Title: Calf Hair strikeplate sourcing?
Post by: mcgyver on February 18, 2009, 08:17:00 AM
Can anyone tell me where I can find a piece of black calf hair 2"tall by 3" long?
I have a unique application and all I can find is the "preshaped Shield" type pieces.

Tanks,
Ron

tandy leather.  I think I picked up my sheet of the stuff at the big chain art supply store (they carry a very small amount of Tandy products - mostly lacing and the leather accent peices).

I've looked through 3R's Catalog and online = no luck. I may try the Phone tonight.
I do have a Hobby Lobby about a 1/2 hr away. I may give them a try.
Thanks for the Ideas! (I always forget about Tandy)

Give 3Rivers a call. They are a great bunch of folks there and always willing to help. If they don't have it, they might tell you where you can find some.

Thank you Matt!!!!
That is the sort of kindness that sets this group apart.
I've never seen another forum full of such traditionally good people.

It,s on the way, I usually use contact cement like barges or tanners bond to put it on with. Glad I could help.
