Title: Some Lucky Guy: Your Kota Bow Is Done...
Post by: NDTerminator on February 18, 2009, 07:24:00 AM
Ran into Tim Finley (Kota Bows) at our local Sporting Goods store the other morning.  After the usual banter about hunting deer, whacking coyotes, and trad bow shooting techniques, Tim told me he had a bow he had just finished out in the truck for me to see.

It was about the most gorgeous and beautifully balanced shorter longbow I have ever seen, right down to the antelope horn limb tips.  I'm not a longbow kind of guy, but a bow like this could sure make me think hard about trying one.

Whoever this bow is for, he's sure a lucky guy and will be extremely happy with it...

I meet Tim this past summer at Denton Hill.  His bows were beautiful and he is a great guy to deal with.  I am trying to decide on one of his bows.

Oh man, so many bows, so little money.  I sure hope the bow is for a Trad Gang member so we can see too.

I love Kota bows.  We have 2 in our house.  I think Tim makes some of the most beautiful bows out.  Got my first robinhood with mine 2 nights ago.  Great shooter.
Any clue what model and how short that bow was NDTerminator?

Yep, I met Tim 2 years ago at a Traditional shoot In Minnesota and my brother ended up buying a Prairie Fire longbow from him. He let my brother take It for one of the rounds to see If he liked It, class act I thought. There's a good chance I'll be buying a recurve from him come June when we head back to the Traditional shoot. He does build beautiful bows no doubt!!

It was a 58" Prairie Fire, Katie...

Schultzy, I highly recommend Tim's Prairie Swift recurve.  Mine is one of the most beautiful bows I've ever seen and one of the smoothest I've ever shot...

Tim always manages to get a good one with his longbow.  You talking that high 180's he got with the muzzle loader?  That bruiser was huge even for these parts...

AdamH--Not all of us are lucky enough to be a lefty.  I see amazing deals on bows just because they are lefty.  Like yours.  It is a steal.
