Title: re-shaping a handle, need help
Post by: adkmountainken on February 17, 2009, 05:41:00 PM
i have a Martin ML14 that i got from a good friend and it is a special bow to me. the problem is the handle is way to big as i have small hands. try as i might i can not get use to this handle. can it be re-shaped to a smaller, locator type grip? i know there is plenty of wood to work with as it is a blocky, straight grip. thanks in advance for any help.

Ken, the only longbow I ever owned was an ML 14 and it I reshaped the grip on it considerably with no problems even though it pulled right at 80# at my 29" draw. It was a brute, even for a young guy, lol. Half round file or rasp will do it. Good luck,                     Grant
