Title: CC Sharpening Jig - Pics
Post by: Over&Under on February 16, 2009, 10:18:00 PM
I cut a notch into some MDF just to see if it works, and it seems to work very well. I will now move onto a hardwood like Oak.
I just cut a groove that the CC sharpener would fit into so that I didn't have to hold it with my hand. It is only deep enough so the sharpener doesn't pull out as you pull the BH though.

What do ya guys think??

Could you do the same thing with a small vise?

Bill - I would think so, the only problem I see with that as you finish the stroke, the bh tends to drop down because of the pressure you are applying and it could hit metal to matal.  With wood you do not have that problem, as the pics show I am creating quite the groove from bh travel.
