Hello everyone! I've just joined the forum (although I've ben lurking for a few days gathering info). Just got my first longbow,a Robertson Mystic 62#, 28"draw. Looking forward to tuning it up. I couldn't wait last nite when it arrive I had to shoot a few arrows in the backyard in the dead of nite. I ordered "Instinctive Shooting" by Asbell and am axiously awaiting it to arrive so I can get started on the right track. In the meantime I plan on browsing the site to answer the ton of questions I have. Any hints on what I should do first to get started?

Hello! Welcome!
First thing to learn (IMO); don't take it all to heart, have fun, enjoy...the good shooting comes after that.
Second, Have Fun.
Ask lots of questions, there's lots of answers; one of them will be pretty close to what you need.
Oh, and have fun.
However you define it. Stump shooting or technical workings, Your way is not EXACTLY another's way.
From one Al to another .. welcome mate. This site has some of the best people I've never met! haha.
You've started on the right track with the book and bow. I think I've read that book about 4 times now. Ask away Al.... there are some fine and very helpfull people here on TradGang.

Welcome.. G. Fred's book is a good start.
Remember that traditional archery is all about having fun, a whole lot of fun. Good shooting form comes from "correct" practice. Properly matched arrows to your bow shot with good form will get it done. If you have any issues your at the right spot to ask questions. Someone on the gang will be able to help.
Welcome and good shooting.

Welcome. It's a great group with a lot of information that you can use.
However, you need to keep in mind that Billy's right - there are only two rules:
Rule 1. Have fun;
Rule 2. Never forget Rule 1.
