Title: Hornes Brush Bow
Post by: TexasStick81 on February 14, 2009, 09:17:00 PM
Hey Guys,

I'm a new member to the site but have been reading the site for more than a year now.  I'm ready to get a custom bow (except for the money part!) and am trying to decide what to get.  I am pretty sure I want to stay with a recurve, a T/D, but don't want anything big and bulky.  I went to Hornes today and shot a Brush Bow with recurve limbs.  I loved it!  The riser was sleek and the bow was light, fast, and powerful.  I'd like to get impressions on the bow and similar bows I might want to check out.

Thanks

I had a Horne Combo Recurve for a short time and found the workmanship to be excellent and the bow a pleasure to shoot. Make sure you don't overbow yourself.

Mark and Sandy are great people and you can not go wrong with his bow.

Thanks for the responses guys.  How would y'all compare the brush bow with recurve limbs to the combo hunter with recurve limbs?

The risers differ but the recurve limbs are all pretty similar among the Hornes. They are quick and very quiet.

Can't go wrong with a bow from Horne's.    As you can see I own 2. A one piece Brushbow, and the takedown version. Both are very nice shooting bows. I just might have to get a set of those recurve limbs someday to try.  :biglaugh:

How would you guys compare/contrast the Hornes brush bow with the Dryad Orion?  They seem similar but I have only seen the Orion on the website.

I cant do anything but praise the work that Mark does.  Wonderful people to deal with and he will go out of his way to make sure he gets you just what you want.  If you live close enough to him to give a few test drives, then I would just go and shoot a few til ya figure out what you want.
