Title: Bows Bowyers Bows
Post by: Bill Wethington on February 14, 2009, 11:19:00 AM
Having just retired, I am looking forward to getting back into trad archery.  As the family obligations grew I just lost the time to do it right and havent shot a bow in 4-5 yrs.  I was shooting a BW MA11 70# @29"  I know I know Heavy bow etc.  I'll leave it to my son the Marine.  I am now in the market for a new bow and I am hearing good things about v-archery.  How comparable to a widow are they and where are they made?  I emailed Arnold Smit and got a great responce.  I am ready to buy, but having never heard of his co. before I would like to get any feedback I could.  I will probably be shooting around 47# at 28"
Thanks for the help

Arnold is one of the good ones, and builds a fine bow.  I've been following his work for a while.

Yep......Arnold is in the Netherlands. I'm having him build me a bow and should receive it in May or June of this year. Here is his website.

I would like to shoot one as well. I contacted him a couple weeks ago because I saw pics of some of his bows in a post. They were beautiful and had an interesting looking grip. He told me he made them with an ergonomic grip.

Sure would like to actually shoot one.

buckeye_hunter.....whereabouts are you in Ohio? It might be a possibility for you to shoot mine after it arrives.
