Title: Snow in NE Idaho
Post by: stripe55 on February 13, 2009, 12:02:00 AM
Heading to 10/12 for elk this fall and was wondering if anyone with boots on the ground can give a report on the severity of the winter there. Thanks for any and all.

We got hit pretty hard early in the year (3-4') in one storm but the last month has been pretty mild. I don't think many elk will be having trouble. Then again the Moose are roaming the strings in C'da.

Not sure about down there. I am a ways North of them units. You can call fish and game or email them and they will tell you about the winter kill or any other questions you may have. Are you using a guide? Good luck this fall.

Not bad so far in unit 10, 12 probably even less down along the river. About half of the snow in most parts as last year. Let me know where in 10 and I can give you a better update .

Thanks for the help guys. No guide Jesse, but am looking for a packer to deal with success. We are not looking for trophys per say, just a quality hunt with a legit chance for bulls. I know the odds are long , but if we can stay out of any other hunters way, we will hike where ever we have to. Thanks again, John
