Title: weight tubes/carbons
Post by: Ybuck on February 12, 2009, 01:24:00 PM
Will adding weight tubes (3 rivers) change the spine of my carbons?
Depending on what i get, adding as little as 90 grains,or up to 150 grains.
thanks.

From my experience weight tubes has not effected the spine.
I bareshafted my carbons (ICS Camo hunters)w/o tubes then added them with no difference.
The only "problem" I have with the tubes, is when I hit somthing hard (tree, rock etc.)the tube blows out the back end. I now carry extra nocks with me whenever I am at the range or stump shooting.

when inserting the tubes crimp them with needle nose pliers Front back and middle they will fit a bit snugger and reduces the nock knock out.
At least I found that it did and it is what they recommend it the little video

Adding a little weight with the tubes works well, trying to add a lot of weight that way can sometimes cause tuning problems.

I tried weight tubes twice with no luck on keeping them quiet!! I crimped, taped bent, and did numerous things to try to keep them quiet with no luck!

I glue mine in.  End of problem.

They won't change static spine at all. They do change dynamic spine,b ut it's such a small thing you'll never know it unless you were already having problems.

They fit SNUG in the smaller carbons like Beman MFX. They don't rattle or blow out the nock when hitting something hard (like my shed). In the larger diameter arrows they are noisy.
