Title: Ben Persons and Glue?
Post by: aklongbow on February 10, 2009, 05:32:00 PM
Questions, does anyone know what type of wood the 1942 Ben Pearson bows were made out of?

When adding wood to the belly side of the handle why does the glue (TBIII) job break?  Is it tiller wrong so I have a stress point or am I using the wrong glue?

I know some of the Pearson bows were made of hickory.

Usually when a hanbdle pops off, it's because there is bending going on where there should be none.

That said, I have used TBII, but never III.

most likely hickory, I know my 39 is hickory. Let me know what winds up working for ya. Mine has come apart as well from age. I have never strung it, but would sure like to!
