I recently purchased this great Blacktail recurve from a man on this site. I was a little reluctant because of the side mount inserts in the riser. I have not had any experience with these before. So, I started inquirying about a quiver. Nakohe graciously came forward and offered this Thunderhorn...at no charge! It matches so well with the wood in the bow...exactly what I would have ordered. I have since offered an arrow barter with him. Thanks Donny. I am working on them!
I was pleasantly surprised at how solid the quiver feels. With the weight of the quiver up close to the riser it is very balanced when shooting it. It is a 3 arrow quiver...another first for me. But looking back at all the hunting trips I can't recall ever shooting more than 2 arrows in a trip. If I were to go back in a ways for a week I would have to change this out for a 5 or 6 arrow just in case!

Looks real nice.
I use a Selway side mount on one of my bows, and it works great.....a little string wax on the threads will help keep it snugged up really well, plus it helps keep moisture out.

Good point Billy. I'll do that. With those rubber O rings on the Thunderhorn, between the quiver and the riser, it is very quiet and doesn't move at all when shooting.
Nice look'n bow!
I also have a Selway sidemount. I like the added weight and balance. Takes some of the vibration/handshock out also.
I love the side mount quivers. I'm having inserts put in my Silvertip takedown.
It's funny how a perceived negative turns out to be a positive.
David,
I need to try that. I bought a nice Brackenbury Quest from Thomas Burns (Hogdancer) that has those inserts, but I don't have a quiver that fits them. Your nice looking setup has inspired me to seek out a side-mount bow quiver for that Quest.
I continue to enjoy that Morrison Cheyenne I bought from you and I am still waiting for my turn to come up on the Blacktail Snakebit I have on order from Norm.
