I have a dilemma. :knothead:
One-piece is the easy choice! Better performance and a bit easier to get quiet!! Shawn
I've been itchin' for one of the PA V's since they came out with it. Osage and cocobola sounds like a wicked combo to me!!
I ordered a PSA-X myself last month. I liked the way the PSA shot plus I didn't have a single take down bow right now and they are nice for traveling.
That was my question just a few short weeks ago. If you are only gonna have one I'd say PSAX. Takedown is much handier if you ever travel. I shot em both as well as all the other models and I'd take any PSA/PA/PTF. They all shot equally for me...Mike
PS...I owned a cocobolo and osage PTFX and it was SWEET looking.
Good dilemma you got thier
With the TD you got easy tranportability on planes or whatever. You can get multiple limbs of different lengths and poundages.might even find some used ones cheaper if you decide to get new limbs later. If a limb breaks or blows up you can get a new set thats gonna be cheaper than a whole new bow.Its gonna be heavier in the hand than the PA.
The PAs nicer looking IMO and gonna be lighter in the hand which I like personally. In spite of all the benefits of the TD I would want the PA personally. If I was only gonna have one bow I would opt for the TD for its versatility and convenience.
I think you could get a lower style grip on the PA if thats something you like in a bow?One of the reasons I never got along real well with a 3 PC widow is the grip is always too high for my tastes.
Steelhead, BW offers 3 grips on all of the recurves (except the PSR) Asbell, standard and low. I prefer the Asbell grip which is sort of a medium-high in my opinion...Mike

Here is a couple for you to look at. Cocobolo/Osage PTFX and Bolivian Rosewood PSAX...Mike
both will shoot well. Having said that, I'm pretty much a takedown fan.
Psa is heavier-more forgiving for the most of us-Pa looks realy good.
Performance should be the same, because of the same style of limbs.
I have a PSAX;(Osage), PLX;(Birds Eye Maple) and a PGA;(Golden Anniversary), I like them all. That being said, I bought my PSAX in 2005 and have never taken it apart after first assembled. Most of my travel is by car, so for me I would opt for the 1 piece PA or TF, a little lighter and gorgeous curves. This is a decision that no matter what you do you will be happy. Good Luck!
If you frequently travel by motorcycle the 3 piece is an easy choice.
I'm a fan of the take down...I've shot both and both shoot great. I just like takedowns.
What are the differences in a PA and PTF. Thanks.
Mooseman 76 i hope you dont mind but i am going to copy that beauty!!
No problem, I'm gonna go for a Cocobolo/Osage PAX sometime in the future. The PA has the "horns" and more resembles the takedowns and old AO and GB one piece bows. It is 1/4 pound heavier than the PTF, if that matters. Your best bet is to try them out. However, I've shot both as well as the takedowns and I say go for the more appealing bow to you they are all very similar. I bought the PTF before the PA was available, I like the looks of the PA better...Mike
