Besides in Australia, does any archery outlet on the Internet carry the Tusker "Concorde" 190 grain screw-in broadhead? I'd like to try them and I'm not finding this particular broadhead except in Australia. Shipping them from Australia would probably cost more than the purchase price of the broadheads. I shoot aluminum arrows if this makes a difference.
just get them in oz. they'll be nearly half the price, since you have US$ to spend.
I think Braveheart Archery ( a sponsor here ) has them. Not sure about screw-in 190gr Concordes, but you can always buy adapters.
Check with Tim at Braveheart Archery.

We don't have them yet, they will be in our next Tusker order though as we've had quite a few requests for that head.
As J.Adams said we have the 155 Concordes and adapters if you want to make your own, or we can make some for you if you'd like. We already made some for another customer using Magnus adapters and they came out at about 210 grains before sharpening.
Hope this helps, Tim
I would think if you use the steel adapter, that would be one tough head!
I have Tusker Concord blanks in 190 and 155 gr. sizes. We sell them Pre-sharpened in LH or RH single bevel, but I could also double bevel them.
Send me a PM or email if you're interested.
Ron
Best made aussie head out there IMHO. Killed more game here in Oz, including water buff, then any other head I'm sure.
ak.
Does anyone know what the rocwell # is on these heads?

Rockwell 50-52.

When do you get your next Tusker order in? I'm set on trying the screw-in Concorde 190 broadhead. I don't want to go over 190 grains because I shoot light poundage bows. This broadhead is going to be an experiment since I want to try a large 2 blade broadhead and I ran across this head on the Australian OZBOW site. I like the looks of this broadhead. :) Long, sleek and deadly looking. I normally shoot a 150 grain 3 blade Wensel Woodsman screw-in broadhead.
Night Wing, I'm sorry I can't give you a definitive answer but as soon as we can can.
Are these broadheads well-sharpened and hunt-ready?
Red Boar,if it's a tusker I am guessing the answer is no. Don't let that deter you as Tuskers are top notch and the price can't be beat.
Go with Sharpster's offer. Considering that they'll come from him to you sharper than you'll ever get them yourself, and that he now has them in stock, and cost of shipping from Oz not sharp, and his perhaps overly fair pricing, it seems a slam-dunk deal. If I could arrange it I would never ever hunt again with any broadhead that Sharpster hadn't sharpened. He's that good. And no, I don't have any stock in KME and owe no favors there. dave
Red Boar, all the Tuskers need considerable effort to get the initial edge. The reward is how sharp they will get and how well they hold that edge, the Tuskers are in elite company in that regard IMO.
John at Tusker is working hard on improving the grind but it has not come to fruition yet.
I enjoy sharpening, and it's hard for me not to like any head that will get that sharp. :D
Since the glue on Concorde comes in two different grain weights, 155 and 190, I did some internet searching this evening after work and found the old Zwickey 11/32" long broadhead adapters only weigh 36 grains, I could combine the two and it would add up to 191 grains and this would be basically the same as the 190 screw-in Concordes that come straight from Tusker. Would be a perfect fit for my 2215 aluminum arrows. :)
Night Wing,
The other thing about Tuskers is the weight listed is what they weigh before grinding/sharpening. The 190 blanks we have weigh 190gr. while Grizzly 190 blanks weigh 212gr or so.
After single beveling at 25 degrees, the 190 Concord finishes up at around 165-170 or so. I assume that you would experience a similar final weight whether they were single or double beveled.
Just something to keep in mind when calculating the weight of the head and adapter.
Ron
After grinding the 190 Grizzly to 25 degree bevel, it ends up at right around 175 grains.
Jason
Thanks to Sharpster and Jason for the info on the finished weight after grinding. Now, it comes down to single bevel or double bevel. One of my friends shoots a Zwickey double bevel Black Diamond Delta and I've never seen his needle like tip bend.
The only single bevel Tuskers I'm aware of are the special Heavyweight Screw ins we have in 250 and 300 grains.
The double bevel heads are quite conducive to converting to single bevel though since the cutting edge is a single piece of steel.
The high carbon spring steel of the Tusker is very strong and hard, but with a long lean head like the Concorde I believe you'd be best served with a tanto tip over the needle tip.
