Title: Newbie want to try aluminums
Post by: Arthur Scottie on February 05, 2009, 08:21:00 PM
I just bought my 55# bear montana- love it, nice suggestion for cheap but good. I like it. I read "Become the Arrow", and now I would like to try aluminum arrows.

I have a 28# draw, and a 55# bow. I was planning on using a 125 grain field tip.

What is your suggestion when it comes to those numbers?

I would say a 2016 with a 29" arrow.

I second the 2016s. That's what I shot with my Montana. I also give praise to the Montana for being a great bow, even if it is relatively inexpensive. Good choice, Arthur!

My 29" Easton 2018"s fly like a dream with my 55@28 Massie "Longhorns" as well as my 55@28 and 57@28 Howard Hill longbows.

If the bow was centercut, I would suggest 2117's but the 2016's should fly for you.
