Ok, so this was bound to happen sooner or later i honestly thought my girl friend was gonna be the one to do it but what ever :S in a nut shell i tweaked my hand when i released and my arrow went through my window and penetrated the deadbolt on my laundry room door. (we don't use this door and there is only a laundry room behind it so no one was in any danger!!!)

UPDATE:
i just too a closer look at the insert that came out of the arrow and the tip is bent and the insert broke in half
Should have stopped while you were ahead! =)
WOW
when your looking out the hole in the window - what the h e double L is looking back in ??? :scared:
its just the door and lens flare haha
I wonder if my bow would have penetrated that lock as well. Could you shoot the lock with some bows in the 42# range and post pics.
Hit right where you were looking right? right?
You meant to do that didn't ya? :knothead:
nice shot if you ask me........
Might be better if you put the target in the corner.Just might. :bigsmyl:
Shoulda used a big snuffer, woulda gone all the way through!!! :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
The windage was basically okay Jake,
but the elevation showed some overcompensation -
kind of like that longer than usual 3D target I
launched an arrow at during last weekend's shoot....
;~)
Keep the wind in your face, Shinken
Ya gonna make a full-sized mount of that door?
An interesting attempt at remote lock picking, but I think you're supposed to hit the tumbler assembly dead on and pop it out the other side... :biglaugh:
I'd say bad penetration....
Bump up the FOC and try again. :readit: :knothead:
Try to sell your pics. to the deadbolt manuf. might get back some of your money.Man you will never live that down.Kip
Should have used a single bevel.
;)
arrow must have been a little to stiff, try more weight up front, should move impact to the right some.
Glad no one was coming through the door.. Consider you blessings and get a safer back stop..
That is classic!
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All I see is one arrow in the target, what happened to the other photo?
Must have been oversized - looks like Guru took it out. Try resizing and repost it - sounds like we ALL need to see that one! :biglaugh:
I don't see what the heck you are talking about. I see an arrow stuck in what looks like a home made target. :saywhat: :saywhat: :knothead:
Good I am glad that the other photo was gone, because I was only seeing the one and I did not know what the big deal was about it.
Chester
if ya look at the original post its shows guru edited it at 7:52am, please resize the pics, would love to see 'em

When the weather is bad I shoot inside through the house and my wife always says somthing like this will happen. Lol better you than me.
I think I sat looking for like 5 min trying to figure out what was going on until realized there was a page 2 and the pic had been deleted. doh

That's what I was thinking! :saywhat:
come on resize the pic! this thread is meaningless without that picture
OK IM RESIZING NOW
That's fantastic. I determined some time back that closet doors will not stop a field tipped arrow. The next wall BEHIND the closet door will stop the arrow just a hair shy of the hot water tank.
Good job. Glad I'm not the only one.
fine shoot
Dude, they make keys.
Does "Pope and Young" have a catagory for dead bolts.
I don't think I would have told anyone!!!!!
Next time pic a differnt spot!! LOL
your going to need way more FOC to get penetration on a dead bolt.
Personally I always thought dead bolts were high fence animals. I prefer LIVE bolts.

Yes, they do, but the key for that door is only 2" long, much too short for Jake's draw length. :D
I wonder what a modified grizzly would have done?
Joe
I did that one time while shooting during a break at work (which I often used to do) and put an arrow through the wall of one of my employees' office. Fortunately, no one was in the office at the time -- and no one wanted to work in there anymore when I was around! Gosh, I only missed ONCE!! :archer:

thats what im sayin!!!! i only missed once! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :jumper:
Not sure what kinda recipe your gonna find for that critter...Not sure brass cooks up to well, may be a little tough. :bigsmyl:
Nice shot. Looks like it didn't go very far.
What's it score?
Talk about pickin a spot, and with a window as a obstacle. Wow you did great. I don't knows as I could concentrate that much on the spot trying to figure glass deflection and window distortion. Obviously the penetration test your workin on is effective also. I'd say your inside the 10 ring. congrats
Can we see the other photo resized.
Good shot...Ive been practicing it for years.... :knothead: :archer: :clapper:
you can just say you were aimin for the keyhole! =]
Looks like a "Texas Heart Shot" on that door....oh wait a minute, you shot that door up the Brass....my bad.
looks like you have your form and bow selection all locked up. lol
Does that make in a Double Dead Bolt?
i would say that is a DEAD bolt lock
for sure
LOL.
I've got a hole in my garage door in Juneau. Danny Simmons put a Ribtek into his wife's car tire about 10-12 years ago.
