I'm going to talk to my father about guiding a youth traditional bowhunter for the spring turkey season on our farm. I like to call and have fun calling for others...I guess because when I first started turkey hunting I couldn't call and relied on others. Now that I know how to call I enjoy doing it for others when I can.
Anyway if I get the okay from my father I'd like to take a youth with parent hunting this spring for turkeys. I'm going to talk to him this weekend about the deal.
Our farm is located in Zone "ZA", if you have this zone and draw an early season it would need to be on a weekend. Actually it would need to be on a weekend no matter what since I live two hours away.
I don't have a place to stay but if you have a tent and want to tent it that would be good since we have a big yard...we do have several hotels in Greenville, MI (about 8 miles from our farm) if that is an option, lodging and food would be the only thing needed on your end. I don't want any money for the hunt I just want a youth to have fun. I'd like to keep it to youths 16 and under. I have one Double Bull Matrix "Recurve" addition and a T2 blind, I could call from the T2 and the parent and youth could hunt from the Matrix. I also have all the decoys and calls.
I will put all interested names in a hat and have my child pull a name.
Granted this is if I get the okay...
I'll put all names in from now until 2-15-09.
Thanks,
Josh
 I hope it works out and look forward to the follow up if it does.
i would like to put my buddys boy in for that his name is logan coffey and his dads name is james goes by the handle of 702plmo and thanks for the chance. jeff
HO'NEHE JEFF...no problem.
Anyone is welcome that is a youth.
I'd like to add that if you can call and want to call for your child I have no problem with that...I can film the hunt if you'd like.
Also if you win and can call and want to hunt a different area we have plenty of fields that we can do this. I might see if I can get 2 or 3 groups out there.
On the weekend I'd be a bit blind the first morning, I have a lot of scouts in the area to point me in a direction and past experience will help in my initial selection spot.
Here is a link to the Michigan DNR Michigan DNR (http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,1607,7-153-10363_10958_10969---,00.html) for out of staters. By the way if you haven't applied (application period is over) then you can go after a leftover tag. I believe the late hunt is easy to get.

TTT...I'll know for sure on Sunday.
Hope more are interested.
