Just got back from the range a bit ago and thought I would share some pics of a beautiful day in western Colorado. First a few action shots.

Then the feast we had after shooting. Menu included moose brats and burgers, salmon, halibut, pheasant and some chips and guacamole. A few liquid refreshments as well.

Last one, a pic taken from the clubhouse.

Thanks for sharing your photo's.
Todd
What a great menu to go with that day!
Hey Mark,
Is that a Sheep target in the third picture and how far is that shot??
Looks like you guys had a great day! It was warm and no wind on this side of the Mountain, made it out to the range this morning myself.
Pat
Tater, that is a 2D sheep and that is a 50 yd shot. We throw a few long ones in for fun. We have one that is our 160 yd cross-canyon shot. All the regulars have a "cross-canyon" arrow in their quiver (one you don't mind losing, breaking, bending, etc.). It is a nice range, 3 - 2D ranges, 1 -3D range, a practice range, a few broadhead targets and a flying pig.
I really enjoy the 2-d targets. I like em more than the 3-d targets on the market. Dale Pottenger used to make 2-d targets out of the same type foam that 3-d targets are made of.
Where do ya'll get your 2-d targets
160 YDS !!!!!!!
YEA RIGHT WHEN PIGS FLY !!
:biglaugh:
Great day
Looks like a blast
And I got up this morning and I could'nt get my bow back(shoulder surgery). It's day by day at this point. Sure wish I could have been there, maybe next Sunday. So who did the cooking, doug?
Great photos. That last one is a beauty.
Looks like a very nice day...we had warmer than usual weather but it wasn't that nice.
I should have gotten out and shot some.
Thanks for sharing.
Josh
Wow, what a cool range!!!
very neat. where is that range? any 3D courses you know of around Gunnison?
Cheers Andy
Andy,
milt beens used to have one behind his trad archery shop (wildcat canyon archery) in durango.
Andy, our course is just outside of Grand Junction. Milt still has his course but ours is probably just as close. I sent you a PM.
Very cool range, How high up is it? do you see any arrow flight change at higher altitude?
What a cool looking course. Looks like you guys know how to put on a shoot. Thanks for sharing your pics.
You guys are lucky to be able to see that country every day. I've been to CO only twice in my life, and it affected me profoundly. Such pretty country--and no hurricanes, which would be a nice change for those of us grinding it out on the Gulf Coast.
Cheers!
Looks like some great fun Mark!!!
Wish I was free on Sunday mornings, I would join you!!
Bayou, trust me we know we are lucky and we appreciate what we have. Jake you will have to start coming up again in the evenings this summer. Redant, the course is at about 6800' elevation, which is not high for this state.
