Title: Dryad Phoenix. .Youth Bow .. . Bow analysis. . Pics added
Post by: wingnut on February 01, 2009, 12:20:00 PM
Well we put on of the little fellars through the ringer this morning on the shooting machine.  The bow tested is a basic model with maple limbs and black glass.

This bow is 52" ntn and 31# @ 26"

It shot a 283 gr arrow (9.12 gpp) at 183.7 fps drawn to 26".

Drawn to 28" at 34# is shot the same arrow (8.32 gpp) 200.1 fps.

I think the little fellar is a keeper.

Haven't noticed these bows on your site, Mike.
Can you tell us about them?

Steve,

We are getting it on today, I hope.

This is a bow we designed for youth hunters and near hunters.  Also good for people with short drawlength.

It is a R/D Longbow offered from 50-54" ntn and 20 - 45 #.

The basic bow comes with your choice of our standard wood risers, maple limb cores and black glass, tips have matching accent to handle.

Same upgrades are available as on our other bows.

Mike, I think you might have a new turkey special there. If you can make one that is 45# @ 27" there will be a run on them for spring season and us blind shooters (shoot from a pop up with our eyes closed).

Mike,

How about a 54" at 28 1/2"s????

I can't wait to see these on the site. Sounds like a great deal for the upcoming hunters/target shooters...

gator,

28 1/2 is a real stretch for the little guy.  We shot the 52 at 28 with the shooting machine but were watching the limbs close so we didn't pull past 90 degrees.

The 54 will go there, but it will have some pinch.

It's really designed for a 26 inch draw or so.

28 can be achieved with the 54" and 45#s.  We are developing a 14" riser/handle on the same limb for adult shooting.

Do you have pictures and a price? 45 lbs at 26" sounds just about prefect for me.

The bow has a youth grip and sight window.  We are working on an adult version.

It's going too be higher.  We can use "shorts" on the Phoenix for the riser and they are a lot less expensive.

Can't tell for sure yet, haven't built an adult version.

Coco is on the premium wood list so it is a $35 upgrade.
