Which Carbon express arras 250 or 350? anyone use them?

My one silvertip is a 58",54#@27" and it shoots a CE 150 cut to 28.25" and with a 125gr tip perfectly

You may have to go to the 250 with the heavier tip weight. use the weight adjustment table then  the red table for arrow selection. The # adjustment table took my 54 down to a 45 bow. If I was not shooting long arrows I would have been at 150.


I shoot 54@28 have a 29" draw.. my 250 are cut to 29 3/4".
I have been fooling around with regular inserts, 100gn inserts and weight tubes along with the test kit bare shaft.  My arrows weigh any where from 495gn to 635
2 bare shaft = 495gn
2 of the 250's = 635gn with weight tubes
1 of the 250's 505gn no weight tubes
All 5 of these arrows have 125gn head and 12gn CE aluminum insert

1 250's with 100gn brass insert with 125gn head = 573gn
1 250 100gn brass wiht 145 head = 593gn

this is typical at 20 yards using the mix of the above arrows. It is actually 2 groups the top one was getting a bit crowded.     :biglaugh:

I shoot the 350's out of my 60# Brack and 250's out of my 58# ACS.  :)  CX heritage are my arrow of choice! Ideally out of a recurve I personally would'nt shoot anything lighter than 9 or 10 grains per inch of draw length. What does your manual say?? Bill suggested the above mentioned to me because, anything lighter could harm the bow.
I'm sure someone will have more concise info, my bows perform perfectly with the heavier shaft and it quitens them down imo.  :goldtooth:

Jason, the 250s cut to 28's or 28.5"s will shoot perfect out of that bow with 250-275 up front. If ya draw to 28"s than a 29" 250 will work but go to around 200-225 up front. Shawn

The 350's will be too stiff, IMHO
I shoot the 250"s cut at 30" bop with standard insert and 160-200gr heads out of 65-75# longbows and recurves at 29.5" draw.
But they also work out of my 55# recurve and 50-60# selfbows.
I just change the point weight up for the lighter bows and down for the heavy ones.

I shoot an Acadian Woods and a Quillian Patriot both are 60 lbs. at my draw and I shoot the 350's 30 3/4 inches long with a 50 grain insert and 175 grain points and they work great for me

250's with the weight you're using up front.  Start them at 30" and work down from there.  I think you'll end up a little over or a little under 29".  350's will be too stiff.

Metsastaja - how do you do with weight tubes?? I get the WORST flight with them. Maybe I do something wrong - been wrong before - but tubes get my arras to do funky things in flight.

I like at least 10 gpi - like more but hard to get. I want to try and cross the 650 grain arrow mark. why I been looking at grizzly stiks as well.

I am using the 3R weight tubes.  I use needle nose pliers to crimp them in 2-3 places and cut them so there is no movement. This summer I was shooting them at 30 40 yards and flight was very good on some bows but on others it did get a little funky.  I do not know enough to explain it. A homemade bamboo back hickory longbow did not like them. But looking back I think I was over spined to begin with.  I have a recurve coming that is 46# and it will be fun to compare the 250 flight with that bow compared to the 54 I have now. I already have some 150's just in case.

My bows in the same weight/draw range are almost identical.  150s definitely.
