What are some bow woods that grow in Illinois and do you have pix of the trees themselves? Thanks.
Illinois is chock fulla osage orange.
Osage (Hedge), mullberry and hickory are pretty much everywhere in IL.
cut some hedge and black walnut today. Am getting some elm ash an hickory friday. I have a place where I can get all the hedge I would ever need I'm very lucky. Also got my eye on a mulberry tree or two lol. Just want to know if there is some wood Im not thinking about.
Probably have black locust. It's related to osage. Easy to work. Makes a good bow.
osage, mulberry, hickories, oaks, maples, etc.
We have lots of bow woods here.
