About 2 weeks ago I picked up my first custom bow from Sarrels Archery and have been shooting my old arrows out of it. Shot good enough, but yesterday I bought some Easton XX75's and "WOW" is all I can say.

This group was shot at 20 steps, about 18yrds, after a few warm up shots. 6 arrows in the black on a Block Target! :bigsmyl:

The bow is a Sarrels Superstition/Bow-Bolt
64" 55@28
The arrows are Easton XX75 400 with 125gr up front. They are a little bit over spined, but I am planning on moving up to 150grns. I just wish I had a scale to know the total arrow weight. Does anybody have an idea about what my arrows weigh?
Thanks again Bob for the bow and many thanks to all of you for all the help I've gotten from reading your posts, my form is better, have a cleaner release, and, well just look at that group.
Alex
Nice shooting.
  :archer:
wow wish i was that consistent with my self bow
I didnt have a scale so I took them to the post office and had them weighed and converted them from ounces to grains. 1ounce = 437.5 grains.
Hope this helps
Shawn
That looks like a pretty expensive backstop you got there if you do miss the tsrget completely. No wonder they are in the center of the bullseye!! LOL
Yup a tuned setup will put a smile on your face.
if youre shooting a 29" arrow it weighs in around 348 grains + your inserts, nock, feathers and BH. so i'd say with a 125gr BH,3-5" feathers, nock and inserts you come in somewhere around alittle over 500 gr. just shy of 10 gr per pound of draw.if you go to the 150's BH you should be right on.
Great group alex
Where was that kind of shooting this afternoon when we shot together  , What's your excuse this time, i'm guessing you were tired. :)
Great group! You must still be smiling.
Thanks for the compliments guys. Intuit: I only put the target up on the truck for the pictures :D
Coon, you know I was only letting you beat me so you wouldn't feel bad.
525grns total weight, thanks for the calculations guys. That puts me at 9.5gr/lb, pretty good.
Thanks again,
Alex
looks like you could pick up a stick for an arrow and still shoot good :notworthy:
QuoteTopic: Proper arrows DO make a difference!!!
I could make do with a stick and binder twine for a bow, as logn as I had properly matched arrows.
What, did you have a 4" group with the bad arrows? Great shooting.
ITS GOTTA BE IN THE BOW...
THOSE SARELLS ARE SOME FINE LOOKING STICKS
Gatorgar; Go to bowjackson.com ,look in the upper left hand corner at the list, pick arrow wt.calculator, pick your arrow from the list and enter your head wt. arrow length etc. and it'll give you your arrow wt. and front of center etc. I have it in my favorites and if yopu change anything you just enter it in and it tells you!purty slick.
