any tg members shoot the bear cheyenne model bow if so how does it shoot and do you like it
I am not shooting one right now. But I shot Bears for long time, and the Cheyenne was my favorite. I killed deer with it. I will buy another one if I can find the right poundage. I like the 55" length.
i would like to test drive a cheyenne myself.i do have a late 60's k-mag but it keeps me busy lookin fer arrows that ive punctured the lawn with. i spend mor time lookin fer arrows than shootin. the other thing i was wondering is why they stopped using the green glass? the older bows look so striking... green glass and shedua look great together
First year I have hunted with my new Cheyenne. It's marked 55# but it tested 60# at 28". I draw only 25" so the bow is 51# for me. It's a fast, smooth and quiet bow and works really well out of my smallish tent blinds and tree stands. I used Grizzly Stik Sitkas with 125 grain Snuffers and 130 grain Zwickey No Mercy heads to shoot through - the broadhead, at least went through - two deer, two hogs and two turkeys.
I really like the bow.
Hey John, how far are you drawin' your Cheyenne? I thought about buyin' one several years back but didn't know how it would feel at 29.5".
Michigan Bill is correct, Bear marks the bows is 5# increments and the weights are not always accurate. Can be off a few pounds.
I put several of the Cheyennes on a bow scale, I saw no stacking until over 30" on any of them.
If you use a bolt on quiver on any of the new style Bears, be careful not to use a bolt that is too long. The inserts have no bottom, if the bolt is too long it will push against the wood at the bottom of the insert and the insert will pull out.
I'm shooting one. I like it alot.
