Got one at the taxidermist and I need to decide. I told him semi seek/right turn, and will most likely stick with it, but have seen some full sneeks that look great.
I never liked full sneeks when they where straight. But some of these newer ones with the slight head turn to one side are very sharp.
So can you show me some and help me decide? He's not a monster, hence the decision to go with this type of form.
I think this was supposed to be a semi sneak with a slight right turn.

These are both semi-sneak mounts.

I don't have a pict, but I went with full sneak left turn. My old Maine house has ceilings that are under 7'. I went with a form from Mckenzie (same folks who make targets). Here is a link to the one I have chosen, though I may shift to the head up. a couple of pages later.

Bear great thread...i have one at the taxidermist myself and went with a semi sneak left turn...great to see what it may look like !
Wow Terry, that's a really nice mount! Very nicely done.
Thanks Rob...that's the position he was in when I shot him.....so it seemed fitting!
Too cool!
Do you mind me asking who did the taxidermy?
Reason I ask, I'm told that there's a really good taxidermist in Atlanta that I'd like to see about doing my Black Wildebeest. I can't find a website & I can't remember his name! All know is that he's very, very good & does African game!
Here's one in full sneak. A couple angles so you can get a good look.

The buck I got this year is being done in a full sneak so I too am glad to see these pix.

Here is a semi-sneak. I like sneak and full sneak poses. They bring the rack closer to eye level. Someone told me once to make your mounts look good on the wall place them so their eyes are just above your eye level. It works for me.
Here's some semi-sneaks with various head positions.....

Thanks everyone. I'm sure now that I like the semi's over the full's. However, this "extreme sneek" is very cool. It really shows antlers and has a very alive/dynamic look to it. I might call my taxidermist and see if he can get it. Thanks for the tip, maineac.

My deer was actaully licking every branch in sight when his appointment came. I don't think an "extreme head up" would look very good on the wall. :D
this one I had done around 7 or 8 years ago. The view is from under him a bit so you cant see how he is "sneaking" but I think it looks nice. We had the option to put the ears out or tuck them back. I chose back and I am glad I did.
it's a fallow but you get the idea (http://i530.photobucket.com/albums/dd349/ozyclint/clintsden011.jpg)
