Title: Hog hunting in Pa.
Post by: Coonbait on January 25, 2009, 01:25:00 AM
I want to find someplace in Pa. that I can hunt hogs and not feel like I'm shooting one out of a crate. Has anybody found a place like this, I would really appreciate your input.
Thanks  GLENN

All of the places I heard of were pretty small and not a real hunt.

There are some feral hogs running around the state, but they are hard to find.  Right now our area is closed to killing them as they are trying to trap them out (not gonna' happen).  They were dumped a few years back, supposedly, when a local pen-hunt refused delivery...at least that is the story.

They have killed them in many parts of the state however, so they are probably on the incline.  You would do better by driving south to one of the real hog states.  Penned hogs are penned hogs.

I hope someone dumps some near me. How are they surviving in Pa in the wild? Its pretty close to consitions here so I wonder if they would be able to make it.

I was told there is a place around Rochester NY that has hogs and it is a real hunt. You may be able to google it.

No hogs around here in SE Pa. My dad lives in Arkansas though so I'll go that way for hogs.
