Wanting to try the Beman MFX classic arrows in my 50lb whip. I draw 28.5 so I am actually pulling around 51 to 52 lbs. My problem is I really dont know if I need the 400 or 500 spine. Dont really plan to hunt with this bow so front of center is not really a concern for me. Have no problem with heavy inserts, I just want a good flying arrow. My goal is for around a 500 to 550 grains though. That will keep my speed up to a level that I shoot well at those longer 3d targets. Any help would be very appreciated.

500 cut to 29.5-30"s with 225 point weight will fly very well for ya and the weight will be where ya want to be!! Shawn
yip id say go with the 500s
Do you really think the 500s will spine right with 225 up front? I shoot 3 under if that matters. My Horne shoots CE 250s with 275 front cut to 29.25. those are .373 spine. I would think that the 500s would be weak for me, but I havent shot them so I will take yals word for it.

I am shooting 56 lbs.@ 29 1/2" whips. MFX 500's 31" w/3 g.p.i. tubes, 90 gr. brass insert, 145 gr field tips-645 gr. total weight. Point on is 34 yds. They will fly straight w/at least 265grs. of insert/field tip but drop a little quicker of course and I shoot 3d as well. My experience is that carbons are ridiculously stiffer than the "charts" indicate!
Just a thought  the ICS weighs less gr per" an are a lot cheaper. For 3d shooting dia should not matter... lighter the better for drop right?
I guess I will give the 500s a try then. Without the weight tubes it should be around the weight I want. Lighter is not always better for me. I want around 650gr for hunting but I dont want to shoot under 10gr per inch and would rather be around 11gr per inch, even for 3D. I have found that less than that I just dont shoot it as well and my bow shoots better. I have found that if I can get at least around 165fps I do fine on the long targets. Thanks for all help guys
