Who out there has experience shooting the newer 3-piece Zipper longbows? Do you shoot the standard, extreme, or SXT models?
How does the longbow on a standard riser perform?
Does anyone shoot the foam core limbs? How are they?
I am really close to placing an order for one of these, but I would like to get some opinions first. My first choice would be the SXT riser, but I am open to other suggestions as well.
Thanks,
Brett
I will let you know in the next month or two,LOL. Bill is building my riser now. SXT,61#@28" boo limbs with beautiful flat zebrawood vaneers, riser will be zebra and bacote.
I will let you know after next weekend as they are going to be at the Kalamazoo show and I am going to shoot them. Flint
Ive shot them all and at the risk of sounding biased they are all high performing bows.I have both standard and extreme risers with curve limbs with a foam set on order. You will not be disappointed whichever way you go but I favor the exteme a little. If feels like a higher grip to me.

Maybe I'll post this again after the Kzoo show...
I bought my first zipper bow in 1988 it was a great bow .When i saw stacy groscope shot asprin out of the air at wv shoot i had to get one.Boy im getting old.
I have not shot one, but got to handle one a few weeks ago. Great looking bow with an awesome feeling grip.
I have the SXT model, bamboo limbs. It's the best bow I've ever owned. It's the one Greg Clark was fondling, Ha!
Good friend of mine stitched a nice thin deerskin grip onto it for me.
He and I both ordered ours at the same time (May) and got them several months ago and we've been putting them through the laps in the woods.
Mine is 58# and Im shoot 625 gr arrows out of it and it performs great. Shot a small hog (70-80#er) and got a good chunk of scapula (sheild) in and out and the arrow never slowed down.
I have 2 Zipper Recurve Bows with standard risers. They are smooth and I enjoy shooting them both. I too am looking forward to shooting the SXT with carbon and foam core limbs. My budget says I will probably order a set of longbow limbs at K-Zoo that fit the standard riser and when things get better buy an SXT with all the new limb technology that Bill is building.
