Get yourself a Jojan monofletcher. They are bombproof and the price isnt that bad.You may even find one in the classifieds.

Bohings are good but Bitzenburger are the best.  JoJans are a fine jig too and I use them myself, but for accuracy, ajustability, and life Bitenburgers are the best.  Plastic jigs (if you are using them) will not last as long.

You could consider holding off on a fletching jig. The following link shows a cheap process that ends up looking great.  http://www.primitiveways.com/fletching_jig.html

Buy a Bitz and be done with it,you won't regret it.The plastic jigs are a waste of time....Ask me how I know.
