I'm looking to get some POC's and have a spine question. I currently shoot a Beeler longbow that's 55#@28", my draw length is 27.75 and I shoot 2018 XX75 cut to 29.5 with 150grains up front. My question is: should the POC's be 60-65# spine weight with this setup? According to the charts, I think this is right, but the charts have always been a starting point for me and not always right.
Thanks in advance!
Sounds about right from what I know(aint much). It would also depend on if your bow was center cut or not.
If yo're going to put 150 grains up front on the POCs, 60-65# is about right. I don't know of a 150 grain glue on point though. Not really a problem. Should get good arrow flight with that spine with anything from 125 to 160 grains up front. Could also cut your arrows down an inch. Not necessary to have 2 inches hanging over the back of the bow, but won't affect things much if you want to leave them that long.
I would go to 65-70 if you are gonna leave at 29.5"s and 150 point weight. The 60-65's will be weak, those bows shoot hard. Shawn
Okay, I'm thinking of cutting arrows down to 28.5" and taking point weight down to 125 gr. So now the 60-65's should work?
Bump ^
With an inch less shaft and lighter point you should do fine with the 60-65's. A 2018 spines about 67 lb.
