I've been shooting a longbow and recurve for about 8 months now, and seem to have hit a wall. I am thinking of picking up one of the Masters of the Barebow DVDs to get some pointers. I'm only going to be able to get 1, so which volume should I get, I or II? Thanks!
I have vol. I. I'll send it to ya, just shoot me your address.
They are both good, but I liked the first better.
I agree, the first one was better.
I liked # 1 the best too..think there will be a # 3 in the future ?
There is a number three in the works right now. Not sure exactly when it is due for release?
I have them both and find the first was a better shooting instructional video. In the second the guys who have BTDT more explained their setups than their shooting styles...
Another interesting instructional video I have is "Dead On Traditional" by Scott Antczak...
The first one for sure.
I like #3 the best...
I have both the first and second video. I like the first best also as the second seems to have alot more target style shooting and I am a hunter.
After I watched both volumes, I came away more confused than I was before.
They were intertaining though.
Never seen em', I need to watch them one of these days! Heard nothing but good!
I don't like the string walking part of #2
Hey pat, want to elaborate a little? Are you in # 3? Did you get a sneak preview somehow? Hasn't hit the market as far as I know.

With that in mind, I'd definately get #2. It's much more in depth than the first volume.
I PM'd Darrell last fall.. 3 will be released some time this year if I understood him correctly.
Masters of the Barebow (either) are the best Traditional Archery videos ever made. I can't wait for 3#.
Being the broke 23 year old that I am, is there any chance that anyone who has ANY of these movies they would be willing to send me? I could either return it, or make a new post and pass it on to someone else who could genuinely put the info the movies to good use. (I am an honest person and you can bet your life on the fact I wouldnt abuse the generosity, and im a man of my word) Everything ive learned so far about shooting a traditional bow, has pretty much been self taught (with the exception of reading the wealth of info this site and a couple others have), and I would like to see if I can better myself and learn a few things from these movies.. Times have my financial situations super tight, and theres no way I can justify buying the movie at this point in my life.. I know, its just a few bucks for a movie, but id like to think I have my priorities straight and I NEED to put money elsewhere.. Everyone raves about these movies, and id love to gain any knowledge possible. Anybody can shoot me a PM, or post on here..
both were great. i liked the 2nd better because it had more modern equipment, covered string walking and face walking, two techniques that people need to see, and understand to be well rounded archers. if no one puts this stuff out there, people will begin to think "point and fling" in the only trad way. id get one or the other, then sell or trade it here in the classefieds for the other one.
