I'm thinking about going to 4 blade Stingers this year. I have the KME knife sharpener. Do you need to take this head apart to sharpen it with this jig? Seems the bleeders would be in the way, and you need to take the blade apart to get the bleeders out (at least that is how it sounds on the package)? Thanks...Mike

Yes, you need to take the bleeders out in order to use the KME. Actually I think you would need to take them out to sharpen with anything other than the accu-sharp.
I have the Lansky type sharpener, it works great for those! You can even sharpen the back edge and the bleeders with it. But with all the sharp edges you've gotta be carefull putting them back together!
I take them out - like to touch them up as well.
Dis assembly is very easy.

Yes, they do sometimes. It seems more like the screw bottoms out before the ferrule insert gets tight. Or it could be that the ferrule insert is counterbored too deep. Either way, a drop or two of super glue gets them to stop rattling.
The only ones I found to be loose came that way from Magnus and Mike said to send them back and he would replace them. I just did like bmfer said and everything was fine.
instead of super glue, another option is using bow wax when you put it together. stops the rattling.
Yes, I've sharpened many Stingers with bleeders in the KME knife sharpener. I also sharpen the bleeder itself in the sharpener. Just extend the bleeder all the way out & the stone will clear the jaw just fine. You will find the KME is much easier to use than other sharpeners.
KME also has the broadhead sharpener as well, this works exceptionally well on all two blades & bleeders once bleeders are removed!
Either way you'll be amazed how sharp you can get them! I believe 22-24 degrees is a good place to start on the correct angle!

Thanks everyone. I've been using 2 blade Stingers for a few years now and think I'm gonna go with the 4 blades this year. I like the head itself and like the idea of a better bloodtrail...Mike
Oh man that's way too much work. I shoot the 4 bladers and all you need is an Accusharp or similar. A few LIGHT passes and they are back in shape. Why fuss with the bleeders when they are cheap and replaceable? If you hit sturdy bones they will likely bend anyway and need to be replaced. I shoot these specifically because they are so easy to keep sharp, fly perfect and penetrate like crazy. Shot one through a bull elk in September. I am officially done fussing with broadheads. :thumbsup:
Beach is spot on with his assesment. With 15-20 strokes with an acusharp, those stingers come out sharper than any braodhead I've seen. They will take hair off your arm like a razor blade.

I also use the Lansky on my 4 blade Stingers. Yeah, it takes a little bit of time, but I don't mind the process.
