I have heard good things about the Quinn Stallion I checked out there website but the Stallion is not available in left hand.
The Stingray is available with Stallion limbs anyone shot this combo or have any suggestions?
Whats the difference in the risers Stallion and Stingray

KYhunter, I had a Stallion and have a Comet. The Stingray has the Comet handle with Stallion limbs. It should be the best of both worlds.
Hey Shadow (or anyone else), could you go in more detail about the difference in the Stallion, Comet, and Stingray risers? Can you shoot off the self with them?(Comet and Stingray) Will a Shur-grip fit them? I've never seen or shot one, but the price sure is good and all you here is good things about them. I'm thinking about getting a takedown recurve and the Quinn Stallion is looking real good.
I have a Stallion and just sold my Comet. The two risers looked very similar when compared side by side. The Comet had a slightly smaller grip, more compact. Both grips are great. I used my 35# Comet limbs on my Stallion and didn't notice much difference. I think the Comet was slightly lighter in mass. The Quinn limbs are awesome. Smoothest bows I have ever drawn.
SuperK, Quinn Archery makes 2 metal risers - the Stallion and Comet. The Stallion riser is larger, can be shot off the shelf, but comes only in right hand. The Comet handle is smaller with a smaller grip, can be shot only off an elevated rest but comes in both right and left hand. The STINGRAY used the Comet riser, therefore, it comes in both right and left hand, but can be only shot off an elevated rest. I prefer the Comet riser. It fits my hand better and seems to have better balance. It is surprising small but well made. One person I know with large hands still prefers the smaller Comet riser. A Shur-grip will fit over either riser.
Limbs for the Comet are single lam and only go up to 35# draw weight.
Limbs for the Stallion are dual lam and are made in draw weights above 35#.
The STINGRAY uses Stallion limbs. Therefore, the draw weight available is 35# and above.

You can alter the Comet riser or any other flat shelf riser to shoot off the shelf.All you need do is build a little hump and cover it.You may want to build out the side plate also but folks do it all the time.Furniture felt pads and a great number of other materials can be used.
