Last week I learned how to make a Flemish string from Mr Patton of Crow Creek bows. I made this one out of fast flight because he didn't have any B50.

I was proud of how it turned out under the watchful eye of Mr Patton but since my bows are not FF compatable I couldn't try it.
While I was waiting for my B50 material to arrive I built this jig.

Once my B50 got here I made my first string without any help from someone else. Turned out pretty good and I added a sliding nocking point and puff balls.

I just came back inside from test firing this string. I have no way of proving it but it seems the arrow went faster than with the old string. The old string had 16 strands and mine has 14. Would that actually make a difference or am I just wowed that my string worked so well?
I think you're wowed, and I am too! Your strings look better than mine!

Very nice work, but now I'm gonna have to change my string colors. :) I started tieing my own a few months back and LOVE IT.
Well done!
Good work on the string and jig Pac. Glad I could help you.

Yes I did the serving too.
Suppose to go hunting this weekend with some friends. I will be tickled if I get one with my first bow string.
Even if they don't shoot any better, strings I make myself shoot better! Very nice.

Very nice...there is just something special about making your own equipment  :clapper:
Tried to spell "wowed" correctly but quoted instead of edited.
Time for bed.
