Title: Heavier arrow question
Post by: Strutter on January 12, 2009, 10:04:00 PM
Kinda thinking about going up in weight on my arrows.  Right now I shoot a 28" 2016 with a 155 grain BH for a total weight of 490 grains.  My bow is 56 lb. at my draw of 27.5".  If I went to a 2018 with a 200 grain BH, would the spine be the same?  If not, what point weight would make a 2018 at 28" spine like my 2016's?

Thanks,
Rob

Lots of variables depending on your bow riser (degree of center cut) but you should be able to shoot a 2018 with a 56# draw weight.  May have to leave it a little longer.  No idea on what point weight at what arrow length would be the same...

2016's spine about 61#'s and 2018's spine about 67#'s on 26" centers.

Here's a nifty little arrow weight calculator FYI:
