Who's going to the California pig hunt at the Tejon ranch in January? It's getting close. I'm looking forward to meeting and hunting with my fellow Cali Tradgangers.
Hey Bill...not going to California, but wanted to say hi!

Hey guys,
Sure do miss seeing all of you. The West Coast sure does put some distance between old friends.

Bill,
I need the low down on this hunt, I'm new to Cali. so I need dates, times, and cost etc...
unclewhit,
kingwouldbe is the real brains behind the event. The date is Jan. 30-Feb 1. The price is $300.00.
There is another thread about it on here somewhere.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Search Kingwouldbe and I'll bet you find the thread with the info.
Man, I can't believe there aren't at least a few on here who are as pumped up as I am about going. It's right around the corner.
Thanks Bill, your right it's time to get pumped up for some Boar Busting.
Here is the link, the first post has all the info.

Sure would be good to have you out here with us bud. Maybe one of these years this could be your trip outside NY.
So let's hear from the local guys. What are the conditions like. What clothes should we be packing and such?
I'd like that buddy..I would luv to see the west coast...and a chance to spend time with good folks and go hunting, that would be awesome!!
It's been in the high 70's to low 80's and sunny out here in Palm Springs area. Dave I wish I could swing this one, maybe the one in April. Good luck to all. I'll give you a call Dave later this week.

Well the weather has been just beautiful the last 2 weeks, sunny and about 75-80  , however there is rain and snow in the forecast for Fri & Sat,24th & 25th also next Wednesday the 28th, that's as far out as you can see.
So be prepared for hot, cool, cold, rain & freezing, the night time will definitely be cold.
looking at the averages for this time of year, this is what they are, High 49-51 lows 37-38.
I hope it is overcast and drizzly, the hogs like to stay out all day. if it is bright & sunny they go and hide at first light.
The first and last hours of the day are always red hot for hogs, especially big boars like to wait for the last 30min to come out.
Make sure every one brings your good binoculars, I think that's the best way to hunt hogs, spot and stock.
If it's overcast and drizzly you can go from one stock to another, assuming, after you got to 10 yards, you didn't want that one, and let it go. :saywhat:
You can also still hunt the oak groves and hills.
we are 10 days out, you should already be in shape, if not, do some jogging this week, the better shape your in the more ground you can cover.
:archer: :archer: :archer:
Right on Kingy. Seeing hogs at Tejon is one thing. Getting to them is another and it can get very steep. Bring some layers you can pull off as it warms up in the morning and put back on as you head back at night....
Just whipped these up for our Boar buster Hunt
650 grain with 28% EFOC double footed :scared:

One week! Is there still room? I have a buddy that may want to come.
Curlis, you have mail, last call to go on this hunt.
