Title: Equalizer treestand
Post by: jojotater on January 11, 2009, 02:30:00 PM
This stand has been out a few years now. Has anyone used it? If so, can you give us a review, please?

I bought mine the first year they came out (2004?) They were still with "BuckShot Treestands" then. I like mine alot, I have called the company for spare/replacement parts twice and received them quickly.

I had a Summit Viper and bought the Equalizer. I like it much better. The ability to make it level is great. The quality is great. The system they have to lock the two pieces together really is excellent. I got the sling seat for it. It packs fine. I quit looking for the ultimate tree stand. I have it.

I read they were imported from Taiwan.

They are imported.  I have had 3 types of the Buckshot treestands and like them all.  I do not have the equalizer but if I could sale my "Convertable" I'd get one.

The "Cadilac" is the most comfortable but you face the tree.

Just got off the phone with them, I e-mailed a few questions and they called me instead of emailing back--Great customer service. I like talking to folks when it's possible. Anyway, she confirmed they were imported- They have used the same manufacturer for the last 18 years. I think I will give one a whirl.

They sent me an email stating they will be going up 20 bucks soon. If you order in January, they will give you a cushion to put on the tree to lean against.

I'm leaning toward getting one for next year.

Equalizer has revamped their operation! They are now taking orders again, and everything is built in-house. 100% built in the USA! Check out their new website at buckshotmfg.com.

I have 2 equalizer stands, one of them I got in 2004 the other I got used last year..it still looked new! I like being able to level the stand as I climb. I use the Hazmore Silent Seat on them.

I have had one for years now and love mine as well. They are built well and lie stated above they are all US now. Great folks to work with too. I like the equalizer way more than any other climber I have used. The only thing you have to be careful of is hitting the rail with your limb. OOPS I guess I wasn't supposed to get that doe!

How do you figure? I've been in contact with them, and they do everything from start to finish in their new factory in Willmington, NC. Maybe some of the plastic knobs and leveling handles are purchased from over seas, but the stand is completely built, welded, heat treated, etc., in their new plant.
Copied and pasted from a recent email:

Features of the New Treestands:

MADE IN THE USA.
Hand-crafted, with each customers name laser etched onto their frame.
Frames are hardened after welding to eliminate stress points. (Click here for more info).
Completely modular design allows the use of multiple arm systems with one common chassis.
Shipped in a 5" tall box direct from the factory to your door step (very inexpensive shipping cost).
Easily assembled.
Powder coated mil-spec desert tan.
Constructed entirely of aluminum, stainless steel, and high strength nylon (no rusting).
Higher strength aluminum tubing with rounded edges.
