Title: Forgiving arrows and setups, need some thoughts
Post by: DJT on January 11, 2009, 02:26:00 PM
I am fortunate to have a lot of bows and each one has arrows set exactly to it of course, but its getting to the point where i am running out of room to keep all these components without a major mess and confusion.  does anyone have Arrow recomendations that are forgiving/tolerating across a lot of spines?  i would love to find an arrow where i can end up with one arrow (a set specific length) and make adjustments to various bows just by changing point weights to micro tune to the specific bow.  I have a feeling i wont find one but even 2 different combos a light weight (40-50s) and a heavyier (50s - 60s).  i know the guys at tradgang would be the best to help me get started with this one as having 2 doz sets of arrows is becoming a nuissance and while i know the question is general i hate having so many combos and just want to make it a bit simpler if possible.  that all said i do realize i want arrows that are properly tuned to the bow, but want to see if anyone had some thoughts to a forgiving spine range setup.
in case it matters my draw is 29 and most spine charts i use are on the weak side for my form/style of shooting, i.e. i tend to have to shoot stiffer arrows then recomended for a given setup.
thanks guys i appreciate it.

I feel your pain. One of the majior considerations is what weight range are your bows? I keep my bows in the 45-50lbs range and find a 30" GT 35/55 just about covers all my needs by only adjusting the tip weight. I have bows that shoot real hard and others that I consider along the lines of regular shooters.

I was sort of having a similar issue...that is until I got the Arrow Dymamics. Boy its true what they say, you can shoot anything from a 40#-70# bow and they fly great. These are the arrows I will be shooting from now on.Its amazing how I was shooting 225 grs up front, and recently switched to almost 350 up front with no ill effects! Ted @ Raptor has helped me a great deal and has "played" with the weight for me as well to make sure I was going in the right direction.

They are a tapered carbon, Raptor Archery sells them, they are a sponsor here. The best arrow I have shot yet!

I will agree that the Arrow Dynamics shafts will shoot great from a wide variety of bows, with a wide variety of points....  :D

Paul at Badger Arrow is also a sponsor here, and is another good source for Arrow Dynamics
