I'm shooting with the Eagle's Flight quivers and my Zwickey Delta 4-blades seem to scrunch up the foam pretty bad. Plus the bleeders have to overlap to fit all four arrowheads into the quiver. So, I'm shooting 2-blades out of the bows when using those quivers.
I don't want this to get into a 2-blade vs. anything battle, just wanting to know if there are any other 1 1/2" wide or more heads that are not coming to mind at the moment as I've rolled several tips on the Magnus 1 with contact on the ground.
I know, the head has already done its job by the time it hits the ground, but I'm looking for a bit more durability...
Right now I'm shooting Magnus 1 2-blades, but looking at the Zephyr Sasquatch, and Silver Flame XL. Would really like to get the 2" diameter Silver Flame but they are not being made any longer...
Ace and Simmons Land Sharks
J-Mac
Abowyer has a couple of 1 1/2" single bevel 2 blades.
Outback was making the Hunter XL's. Very durable and the price was good. I think they may have discontinued them but you might contact them through their website. May have some in stock.
The Abowyer heads that Adirondack Bowman referred to are excellent, and will be as durable as any you find.
Hey Bonebuster, check out your member# and my member#.
Abowyer whitetails here and I'm trying to get em bloody. just want to see for myself
I like the Ace Super Express...200gr

Hey, I recognize that picture! ;0)
The Ace is a super tough head!!! Thinking about switching back to them this summer.
Bowhunter4Life,
I know the old Magnus I had a problem with the tip curing. The newer ones have a different tip, more like a Tanto tip. Not sure Tanto is the right description but I know they are not quite a narrrow and are a lot stronger. You can probably search here and find references to the changes Mike made on Magnus heads.
Maybe your using the new head and still having problems! I hope not cause the Magnus I is my go to head.
Link to thread where Mike Sohm from Magnus responds to bent tips. Look on page 4.

I picked up a bunch of Deadheads and they're nasty tough and get sharp as anything I've tried.
Dave, you're a tease! :p
The big Ace is a good suggestion as an alternative. I've not had any trouble with Mag I's but I put tantos on them like most everything I shoot.
Silver Flame XLs
Maybe it's just me (It usually is ;) ) but if you're happy with the Zwick 4 blade Deltas (I know I am) & prefer using 'em, save your broadhead bucks & ask Don at EFA to make you a slightly bigger quiver hood.
Myself, I have one of his bigger-than-usual-but-I-can't-remember-what-it's-called qivers & I can fit, comfortably;
4x4 blade Magnus 1
or
4x4 blade Deltas
or
4 160gn snuffers
or
3 BIG deadheads & a 1-7/8" SF etc...etc...etc... It is a tight squeeze, but I don't need to overlap the bleeders.
I'd rather stick with the broadhead I love & change the carry system.
Just a thought ;) :D
Boy, Rob made a great suggestion...I might have to look into a "bigger-than-usual" hood. I have two of these quivers....but they just don't work with big Snuffers very well without feathers mashing together....
Here you go, the proof of the pudding......

Yep That's the way to do it Rob! I get 3 four blade 220 grain Muzzy Phantoms in a Apache with 3 arrow holder.
The Griz el Grande heads are plenty wide. Strong as you know what. It would be a rare instance where a wider head would have a benefit when you are typically talking very narrow differences in width to begin with. The only griz I have broke/damaged was a direct hit on a rock. NO bending! Snapped the first 1/4" of the head clean off. Never bent one. Even in targets, if you hit another head, the blade is barely even damaged on the sharp side. Just a small burr. They are very tough.
Or you can just hunt with three arrows? Thats all the 160 snuffers that I can fit in a GN bowquiver so thats all I take. I have an 8 arrow hip quiver that only holds 4 and a hex head without nicks in blades. I dont think the Trad Police will fine you for a half empty quiver.

Oh I dunno.....1/2" difference for the Deltas & Magnus I heads (+ the possibiliy of a 4-blade option), 7/8" for the SF, 5/8" difference for the Deadheads.
I'd say those measurements were pretty significant ;)
Occasionally, just occasionally....bigger is better ;)
Absolutely Rob!!
i dunno dude, from the few deer ive killed, ive never wished for a smaller hole in any of em, but in several cases, a bigger hole would have been welcomed...
What is the difference between the 135 grain and the 160 grain Magnus 1 other than 25 grains? I guess I could shoot either as I'm sticking a 125 grain steel adaptor into the 135 grain now, and I could just stick a 100 grain into the 160 and come up with the same weight... Does the 160 have a sturdier tip than the 135?
The Sasquatch is a good head, wide with great flight characteristics but, in my opinion is not very durable. I broke the blade off one in a layered foam target once.
I used the same Sasquatch on my last two deer, 2 holes in both. That same head is leaving right now to try for a third, season closes Thursday. Bye. :wavey:
(Jeff, it's in an Eagles Flight quiver)
Jeff,it appears to me that is the difference...I talked to Mike yesterday in Indy at a show and was showing him some pics. He made the comment that the Mag 1's that I was using, was more durable....I wish I'd have asked him then what the difference is but I think you're correct.....mine weight around 250 each with 100 gr. steel insert but I cut the end off the steel insert so I can use bleeders in them...about 1/16" off...Don
