After doing some searching I'm thinking of getting a bow custom built!
I like the look of a basic bow, like its carved from one big hunk of wood. Maybe one small accent stripe.
I would love to see some pics of your simple yet classy bows.
The link below goes to my two non-fancy bows. The top is a 1983 Deathmaster with a solid bubinga riser. The bottom bow is a 1995 DH Hunter with a purpleheart riser and accent stripe.

Here are a couple pics of a Rick Welch Dakota, the bow on the right in the first pic. This bow is Bocote but you could choose a less fancy wood. Very good preformers.

Check out Mahaska bows. I don't own one or never shot one but they are simple and nice looking. Joe
Horatio, that is plan? Simple? BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!
Love the looks.
Tim
I get you night owl. The more I look at them the more I agree with you.
I like the looks of a bow like that. I think like you said it's that it looks like it's a wooden bow. Even when I see a truly beautiful bow that I really like in the back of my mind there is something garish about them.
I am liking massacar ebony more and more these days.
You should see some of my fancy ones! :biglaugh:

Oh, yes, I can see that clearly now. I had sunshine on my monitor and it looked much lighter in color.
Here is mine. Taiga Recurve made by Abbe Penner, Cari-bow. Red maple limbs with cocabolo riser, antler accents on tips, front of riser, and bone on thumb rest.

Sweet bows. Keep 'em coming.
Here's a couple pics of a Great Northern Ghost I used to own. GN's have "dymondwood" risers, stained to simulate a particular wood. Mine was an "osage" riser with bamboo limbs. I've always thought the GN's have a simple elegance and beauty.

For plain, non-fancy, IMHO, the winner is: My 1973 Fedora TD.
