Well I finally got my Orion from Wingnut and Jason... Let me tell you it is an absolute work of art. Draws so smooth and shoots fairly fast. She is 58" - 55 @ 28. Bocote/coc-bola riser and bocote veneers over boo. This is beyond a doubt one of the prettiest bows I have ever laid my hands on.
Got the curve limbs as well...

Real Nice
Beautiful bow! I love the grain in the bocote. Congratulations!
Claudia
Yes they are beautiful bows and shoot just as great. Hope you have many good times with her. I should have gotten long bow limbs when I ordered as well.
Shawn
Great looking bow! Can't wait for mine to get here - speaking of, I may need to get ahold of Mike for some more limbs....
Those guys at "Dryad" sure put out a great bow.
Mike and Jason make a great bow... this is a low wrist and my hand literally rests against the arrow. This is my style of shooting from the old days when all ya could get was a straight limb longbow. I always shot with my hand high up on the riser. I can tell you my second shot at 12 yards I hit a 1/4" diameter dot on my target. Next arrow hit the other one.
Thats a Beauty for sure!
KY :archer:
Beautiful!!!
I sure like that bocote! She's a beauty!
that sure is purty
cant wait for mine!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ian,
We laid up your riser over the last couple of days
Won't be long now.
Mike
hey mike, would you mind posting pics of mine when done?
that's a stunning bow!
oh no problem. You want everyone else slobbering on it. Heck it's your bow. LOL
It's going to be a pretty bow.
Mike
Anyting that comes out of that Dryad camp is sweet.
:bigsmyl:
Chris,
Yours is in process now too.
Had a fellow over the other day that saw the riser glue up and ordered one with the figured bubinga and birdseye maple.
Yours will be an ugly bow too. LOL
Mike
Thanks Mike,,,and you know what they say even ugly bows need love too :bigsmyl:
Looking forward to seeing some pics!
There are some mighty fine looking bows coming out of your shop here lately.
Chris
Too many ugly bows coming out of TX, Mike, what on Earth are you guys doing out there?
I'd hate to see Dryad end up with a reputation.
:clapper:
Awesome bow!
You just had to post those pics. Man! You're making me drool. Sweet looking bow - love that riser!
Very Pretty
Well while you guys are at it why not post up some pics of my bow>???? PLEASE!!! PRETTY PLEASE!!!
I'd say awesome, but that doesn't do it justice! I'd be afraid if I took that to the woods, I'd just sit there and stare at the bow and not even see the deer.
it is a handsome bow. I am a recurve shooter most of the time. I got a lttle inside scoop for ya though.....the dang longbow limbs are hot. Mine will flat fling an arrow with the best of my bows hot recurves included.
it must be the special sauce jason and wingnut are using :)
I should have know, the last time Wingnut made his gumbo in hunting camp, I had tears running down my face from the heat. Must be dipping the longbow limbs in it. :)
My longbow limbs with my draw on the fingers are 2 fps slower than a pair of ilf carbon/foam recurve limbs that cost me just a bit less then my whole Dryad bow with two sets of limbs did. them boyz must be doing sumpin right LOL
rusty
Congrats on another beautiful bow. She's a looker as well as a shooter.

Beautiful bow, the finish looks really top notch.
