I have some good German military snow camo that I really like. Problem was I tried adding some black blotches to the green ones. Then the wife decided it needed a washing(top only). Now I have a light gray jacket!
So, I took a hooded sweatshirt my hunting partner Mike Robin gave me, some HS Strut Duck paint and made my own Snow Camo top. I then compared it to my winter ASAT jacket...got the best of both worlds....
(((PICS TOO BIG)))
That's the ticket Joe. I did a similar thing to a pair of white coveralls I got from the Navy.
i'm in the process of making a snow ghillie. white base with white, grey and brown strips of cloth. no black for me! let the shadows do that.
Thats good stuff you did right there! Works well!!!!!!!!
Looks good Joe
Does the ASAT pattern look different on dif fabrics ???
Sometime the backround, is quite "tan" looking sometimes more white.
What is that fabric Joe?
I wanna switch to ASAT but nobody has it around here.
Thanks
Joe you sure that's not just some dip you spit on that white sweatshirt!!?? :scared: Just kiddin' Bud! :clapper:
... "Looks Good On You!" ... Remember Dangerfields' line in Caddy Shack? Well, nice job Joe. ;)
... mike ...
Looks good Joe. Will you be able to wash it? Also, where'd you get the decal on your truck?
you can get an ASAT insulated bomber jacket on the auction bay for less than $30 shpd.Do a search. they are great coats.Buy a size larger than usual though. They run small.
want CHEAP snow camo? Get a Tyvek suit (<$10)
Its the coveralls painters wear. Buy a size or 2 too big and wear over normal clothes

Or, embroider "Frogg Toggs" on it & resell it for over $100 :biglaugh:
But seriously, tyvek that would be a better outer shell material in cold weather than a cotton hoodie. You might have to run it through a washer & dryer once or twice to soften & quieten it though.
Okay, I see the ASAT, but where's this sweatshirt ;) ?
I wanted the cotton for quietness and I layer underneath for warmth. The photo is after the washing....
I'm sure there are other articles of clothing that can be converted into snow camo as stated above but this was simple and cost effective. If we plan on doing drives for deer in the winter, then the bomber jacket is my key. Only layer with lightweight thermals.

They have both. The regular ASAT has a tan background.Their Snow Camo has white.
Thanks
You need some help with resizing those pics?
Joe, Can you resize the pics... I'd like to see the handywork... always looking for new ideas! Hey saving some money wouldn't be bad either! Thanks Jan
I tried resizing following Robs advice on the Photo thread...thought it was fixed...guess not.
Computer illiteracy....I'll try again....
