:( :( :( I hate saying goodbye but...I have a couple bows I have decided to stick with. Both made by Robertson. I gotta do it so I can settle in for accuracy and this economy aint helpin much either. So in one way I'm :) and another I'm :( . So if you guys see me on there trying to buy somethin dont sell it to me man. Help a fella out. I'm a recovering bow-a-holic man.
-
Dang, you scared me. I thought the classifieds were gone!!I'm still in denial about my addiction!!!!!
-
LOL!!! I thought I kicked the habit by using the same bow for a whole season. :biglaugh: If circumstances were different I'd be on bow #6 since last June!!
-
probably a wise choice. right?
-
You'll be back.
-
I hear ya. I have set a limit of 3 shooters for me. No way I have time to shoot any more than that. Now in order get a new bow, I have to sell one first and I just can't bring myself to sell any of the 3 I have(BW PSAII,Quinn Stallion,JK Kanati).
I have recently started trying to build my first bow however, those don't count :D
-
Did you see that lattest bow listed???
-
Yep, I too have settled on 3 bows as well.
-
Scared me as well... I am trying to get rid of a Critter Gitter on there...thought I was SOL...lol!
-
I feel your pain, listed one to sell and wound up buying three. Sold the limbs from one so I could justify the Mailman banging on the door over the last week with my wife. Plan on selling a couple of more but everytime I try that I wind up with more bows than I started with!
-
Last year I hunted with 3 bows and killed 4 deer, (Dont own one of them now). This year I hunted with various bows and have missed 4 deer. One I shot at twice. I told myself, after reading several different threads where I saw someone post "fear the man with one bow" I have to do that. I got rid of everything but 2 and I let go of some fine bows...2 Firefly longbows :( , a Widow, and a Whisperstick recurve. Sticking with the Robertsons because they are the exact same length and weight. Different grips but easy to switch. One is a takedown too.
-
That's too bad, because I just listed a Vision Quest w/pierce points for $200. :)
-
Dude! quit watching Dr. Phil. I feel much better when I see everyone doing it. :D ;)

I'm not sure if there is a 12 step program for bow aholics. I just know that the cure is not easy. Good luck. Now, about that Black Widow you sold. I have a PMA-V (Ironwood) that I would let you have for a .................. :banghead:
-
I' m on the 12 step program..er that's the one where you buy 12 bows from the classifieds right?
-
GOOD! one less sniper. :biglaugh:
Seriously though, even though you settled one one bow (uhm) you still need ammo, and clothes, and quivers, and and and...
you won't be far away, and I'm willing to bet you'll just be stopping in to "look" once in a while.
-
I have to tell ya, I caught myself with my new bow in hand, the day I got it, browsing the classifieds! :help:

Rehab is for quitters!
1 a month, only 1 a month.
-
Good now if I can get some of the other people to stop buying things here to, maybe prices will drop into my price range...
Hahaha :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

I'll tell ya what, you fellas are brutal. Just to take the heat off, I'm thinkin about quittin eating junk food, fatty food, dippin, and sex. Now that'll give ya somethin to talk about.
BTW, I didnt see no Pergrine on the classifieds.
-
Be careful, in some parts of the world, giving up your sex involves a very sharp knife....
-
Dang... That's too bad cuz I know about a Robertson Purist that's gonna be looking for a new owner soon. :smileystooges:

"A man cannot have too many bows"

On one side on the coin, I'll say.....I hope you had a fun journey to your destination. On the other side of the coin(after reading your last post on other vices) I might be taking side bets that you will be back in the game! LOL All the best in any case. By the way I got this.........,you got to try it!

Kim
I'll take some side-bets with you! Hard to break old habits.
-
Good for you Jim! Good Luck Bud! :clapper:  :biglaugh:
-
Jim, it's the thought that counts. At least your trying ;) But you know "they" will pull you back in!
The only fix for your particular addiction is to build your own bows. But of course thats really not gonna save you any money at first. But you will love to hunt your own.
Good luck.
-
Awe man  You just made my mouse finger itchy for classifieds again!
-
Jim
I told you years ago at Tar Hollow when I buy a bow I get adoption papers with it. Still got my 70 Grizzly and the auction bow you got me remember that bow.
Dave
-
Randy,
Building my own is in my future.
Dave,
Refresh my memory man.

"The grass is always greener on the other side" This saying comes to mind for me. I get a couple of great "dream bows" and then I make the mistake of looking at the classifieds! I start to thinking of how a bow would shoot, how it looks...and before you know it I am reaching for the mouse. I haven't caved into the desire yet! But it is still there....excuse me, I need to go check something out... :)
-
I was having some trouble getting a starter bow and I'm wondering if it was the collectors bidding high on me! A wall full of bows (at least, the low-weight ones) could mean somebody, or somebodies, somewhere else, who don't have something to shoot. So thanks very much for putting these back out into the world. You might be giving up the tools but I think you'll be promoting the skills when you do. Thanks and pass on the gift!
-
You guys mean I won't be happy with my first bow? I love her. How can you be so promiscuous?
-
NCH,
Thinking back, I have bought and sold over 100 bows over the last 10 years. My first bow was a take down recurve made by a fellow in Montana that is not making bows because of a serious auto accident that incompassitated his son. Wish I could remember his name. :knothead: That was one fine bow that I would love to have back and I could have been totally happy with that one. I think I sold that to Country Birl down in Florida. If you got a good one hang on to it.
-
Jim, tsk,tsk, only a 100,LOL.
Danny
-
Danny,
That's all I can remember. There's proly a couple I forgot...on purpose :goldtooth:
