I just recently got some sita spruce arrows on a trade and love them. I was shooting yesterday and busted a nock. I can't get it off to replace it. I tried needle nose and still could not pull it off.
Try a regulare set of plyers grip it just like you would a pipe gentle twist clockwise and counter clockwise. This has worked for me just be careful you will eventually break the glue.
I usually cut mine off with a razor knife. Just have to be careful not to cut into the wood.
I cut mine off with a razor knife also
i have used a flame to soften(essentially burn) the nock and usually most of it will pull off with alittle clean-up left to do.
Careful if you just pull it. I have pulled wood loose ruining the nock taper. I like to heat the nock up and get it a little melty and use an old set of plyers you won't mind getting plastic on.
Cut it off. Heating can help, but will burn your crown dip if you are not very careful. You must be careful when cutting the nock off as well to prevent damaging the shaft taper.
Many nock materials are damaged by sunlight(UV?). They become very brittle when left in the sun for extended periods. The mercury nocks I prefer are one of the brands that can't handle sunlight, along with many of the 'harder' nocks. The old speed nocks are softer and don't seem to be as effected. I have used some of the newer nock brands and find that some are more light sensitive than others and it seems that the softer (more flexible)the nock, the less sunlight sensitive they are.
I cut mine off. Dip it in boiling water a minutes and a razor knife will take it right off Or use a lighter but be careful
