Title: simmons heads??
Post by: Manitoba Stickflinger on January 07, 2009, 01:14:00 PM
I'm looking for a broadhead that's around 200gr. and doesn't require robbing a bank to pay for them. The Simmons Interceptor has caught my eye and was looking for feedback on this head. How are they to sharpen? How do they fly (as they are quite wide)? Any info would help....thanks!

Each to their own, of course, but if it were me I'd go with a 160gn Magnus 1 with a 40gn adapter.
Not sure why, but I could never get the Simmons heads to fly well, yet as soon as I changed back to a Magnus, the problem went away!

Take a look at the Ace SuperExpress.200 grains ,1 7/16" wide. Sharpens easy enough and holds an edge.As wide as it is it flys perfect for me.Price around $23 for 6. Can't beat that.

STOS 160 gr. with a 40 gr. adapter is what I shoot now. I  was shooting the Simmons Land Sharks but I couldnt get them sharp enough for my liking. Im sure they could be sharpened though. The STOS sharpens real easy and fly like my field points.
