They make broadhead adapters for their Axis/MFX,it is just a tapered collar for using a larger diameter broadhead or point 11/32.They are around $15 or more a dozen. Most guys just foot them with a small piece of an aluminum shaft, but you have to make these yourself and epoxy them on.I foot mine with a 1" to 1.25" aluminum shaft for next to nothing in cost, just some time in making them.I think footing them makes them tougher then just using a broadhead adpater collar because it is alittle longer and more solid then a collar that just slips over the end. With them already making the broadhead adapters,I don't see them making anything different for them.

They want them to break to some degree. If everyone only ever buys one dozen, not much good to them.

JRY309 does exactly what I do. An Axis or Beman will take lots of abuse before it will break when you foot them like that.

Honestly, the apparent weakness of the shatfs due to the HIT's is one of the reasons I've never switched to the slim carbons. I've used ICS shafts since 2001 and never seen the need to foot them or reinforce the front of the shafts.

The full metal jackets have been extremely durable for me - much more so than anything else I've shot, which covers the gambut. These are basically a full-length version of footing over carbon.

bowfiend,

Those FMJ's are carbon with an aluminum sleeve, like an ACE? If so, I imagine they're an extremely durable shaft.

Having just spoken to Easton re these shafts. They state that the new Axis N fused shafts are the strongest shaft they have to date. When asked how compared to FMJ reg and dangerous game shaft - same answer as above.
