Took some time to fill tags over the last few weeks. On Christmas Eve, I shot a doe and an 8-point in MI.

On New Years day I shot a 6-point in IN. He was 3 1/2 years old. Kind of nice for a 6-point.

Tonight was the last night of the season in IN and finished up with a good shot on a big doe. While dragging her out of the woods I was planning out stand locations for next year. I love hunting whitetails.

Nice season -- and 2wat a way to end the season! Nice!

Congrats
Four deer in a little over a week? Fun for sure...and freezer full of venison as well. Pretty hard to top that. Congrats.
Good times and good eats and memories! Way to go Denny... :clapper:
Yep, the freezer is now full again mate. I bet you had you boots on for that hunt with all that snow about!
Well done mate, well done.
AK.
Congrats! Just finished up the Wisconsin season tonight with no sightings. Spending a week at the cabin near Necedah with the family and will be on snowshoes tomorrow looking for next years perfect stand. Looks like you may have found yours.
Good job Denny, looks like your closing her out in style. Tripper
snow,multiple bucks,does,stick bow............wow
looks like you got a taste a HEAVEN already
CONGRADULATIONS!!!

WOW - congrats

Mike, It is a 66", 70# @ 28", all Osage lam PLX td with a piece of cocobolo in the riser. The osage they used was dark and grainy when I received it. It is a good shooter. I got it in September right before we filmed my segment for MBB3. Shot 10 whitetails with it this year. I think I'll keep shooting it for awhile :)
what weight arrow, and broadhead, wood or carbon?
3 fletch or 4
Scott, 28 1/2" Beman ICS 340, fletched with 4 4" parabolic feathers and tipped with Wensel Woodsmans and Zwickey No Mercys. Total arrow weight around 600 grains.
Congrats Denny on a great year. Looking forward to the release of MBB3. I was hoping I'd get to see you shooting on this one.
Congrats on the deer. Nice bucks, and those does look enormous. How much did they weigh??
Mark, I didn't weigh any of the deer. Both does were the ones with big long heads though. The ones that blow at you when you are trying to get a buck.
The 8-point was chasing a doe when I shot him and I saw a lot of rutting activity in IN also. Thr night I shot the 6-point I had 40+ deer go by my treestand - most in shooting range. Had a 140 class 8-point walk right by. He was one of the guys I'd been after all season. Too bad he had already shed one side. It made me sick :)
He'll be bigger next year I hope. Also saw a small 8-pointer that had shed one side and another buck that had lost both sides. Some of my buddies have commented on seeing a few shed bucks already also and when I checked in the deer the ranger said some guy had checked in a shed buck that morning.
Denny....a fine end to the year !!!
Great looking bow by the way....Hoping that 2009 leads to those bucks walking past your stand before they have shed.....
well done mate.
cheers
Ben
Denny,
Funny thing, I had just watched one of your old videos just before I saw this thread. It was Shooting Instinctively, Better Than Ever II. What ever happened to Dan Bertlan?
Good for you on your deer harvests!
By the way, I bought one of those quivers from Safari Tuff. Super product!
Dang!!!!
Reminds me of a line in the movie Escanaba in Da
Moonlight..."All good tings, come to those who shoot straight".
Excellent example(s) of the effectiveness of a well placed arrow.
Congratulations.
Very impressive! Congratulations!
Congrats Sir!

Wow. I'm envious. I wish I had the time and places to shoot half that many in one year. Congrats.
Dang Denny, we should start calling you the "last minute fridge filler". :)
very nice end to the season! Well done.
If you were still shooting those 100# bows you could have killed all 10 with one shot!ongrats on an awesome season.Keep up those awesome articles in TB. :notworthy:
Nice finish! Congrats.
Denny,
Nice job, way to end the season. Now how long will it take you to reduce those to steaks and chops?
bihunter, Dan married a great gal and moved to Wisconsin. Last time I talked to him they were moving farther north - into some better whitetail country. He is still doing some video work dealing with educating students on conservation and nature. Sounded like some real positive projects.
Lechwe, I gave 2 deer to families that could use them. 2 deer were entirely made into jerky. Awesome stuff! We ate one up already and the freezers are nearly full. The last one will be made into hot dogs and the back straps smoked.

:biglaugh:
Bit like us turn a hole Kudu into biltong, just keep the back straps.
Good shooting and a good way to end the deer season! :bigsmyl: Hope I can finish out my season that strong! We have untill the end of Jan or fist week of Feb to bow hunt, still have a buck and doe tag too fill or I can use my buck tag for a doe.
Congrats on a great season! Always look forward to your articals in TBM.

 :clapper:
Very Nice. Being that proficient with a longbow is encouraging to anyone who has ever wanted to shoot one. They may have to start calling you "Mr. Longbow". I'm sure Ron would have something to say about that.
All kidding aside about 10 years ago in an archery shop is Kansas City I ran across "How to shoot instinctively better than ever". I had never shot a trad bow before in my life. I had been hunting for years with a compound. I don't know what made me buy that video but I did.
Ron Laclair, Dan Bertalin and yourself hooked me on trad and I have never looked back. I have just about every video you have ever been in. They are among my very favorites and I rewatch them constatly through the winter months.
I would love to see you and Dan do another "How to shoot instinctively" video. Dan has a fantastic knack for tying a video together and making it entertaining, yet informative and you two work together perfectly in a video.
Thanks for doing what you do and staying part of the trad community. You have inspired and educated a lot of people myself included.
Oh yeah.....What's with the Tab?
Mike
Mike, I switched to a tab years ago so I could run a video camera without popping off the finger stalls. Ended up liking it better than a glove. Don't tell Dan though - he doesn't have a clue :)
Thanks for all the kind replies and best to all of you in the New Year.
Where would a guy find these videos at, preferably on dvd? :help:
Denny,
Nice shooting!!!! Beautiful bow!!! Tons of Deer!!! It just don't get any better!!!!
:clapper:
Daren
Denny,
Awesome my friend. 10 whitetails! Hmmm...I thought I had a busy season.
Peter
Denny,
Your six pt. looks alot like the one in the latest TBM.. :scared:  Was it shot on the same farm??
Heading out this weekend to try and fill my last two tags. Should be a good weekend to hunt with cold temps and snow on the ground. Have a nice unpicked corn field to hunt with a soybean feild on the other side of the woodlot I'am hunting. :bigsmyl: Come on Weekend!!!!!!! :banghead: :banghead: :biglaugh:
Raven >>>>-------->
Raven, Shot the 6-point in Indiana on another farm. Good luck this weekend.
Peter, It all started with a doe lope. Thanks again :)
Congratulations! :notworthy: Thanks for sharing.
