Are these bows still being made? Are they any good? Bear has a couple of Ferguson design bows like the Patriot, but I don't think the ZBow is the same thing. Anyone know about them or maybe even have shot them?
Thanks

Sam, Go to

to see catalog of the Zbows. Clint
Thanks Clint

Amazing. Makes them to order, your choice of woods, to fit your hand, for $400. That's a good deal if they shoot good.

I have a 66" Z64 that I like . I have also shot a 62" Z58 that I like better. I think his base model is now $500 and the deluxe is $800
What's the model called a "Redhawk". Saw that one somewhere or other. The home page says all bows are $500 and the catalog page says all bows are $400. Does not have individual pricing for each model. What do they shoot like, a Tomahawk, a Savannah, a Thunderstick? Or more like the Bear Montana, Patriot, etc
sam
Sam, They shoot differently depending on the model. The Z64 is made similar to a Ferguson Royal Safari & the Z58 is similar to a Ferguson Patriot. Each style can be ordered in different lengths. I sometimes shoot a model Z64 in 66" AMO length. I like this bow better than the Bear Ferguson Royal Safari, mainly because of the ZBow's custom fitting semi-pistol grip. Byron Ferguson himself shoots ZBows on "Impossible Shots" tv show each Wed. You can get a good close look at them on this show. Clint
The Z64 has very little Reflex/Deflex in the limbs but has a nice D-shape when strung and very stable ,but has a little hand shock.
The Z58 has a lot of R/D and is faster and shorter for the same draw length, with no hand shock.
The $800 deluxe model has nicer woods and veneers over the action wood limbs
Thank you. I've seen these bows if they are the one BF shoots with. Of course, he could make any bow look good, but they must be pretty good bows. the Price I guess goes up as you select more expensive woods, etc regardless of the website.
Thanks
sam
Like Magnum in MS said, the price for a custom Zbow with your choice of riser woods but without limb veneers laminated over the actionwood is $500.00. However, this is still much cheaper than the Bear Ferguson Safari which is made with black glass over maple lams and dyed laminated wood riser. For 2009, Bear has discontinued the Royal Safari. I think they still make the Patriot.
This has to say something about the bows. I emailed the site and got an answer from Byron Ferguson himself. I guess he's not just putting his name on the bow. BTW, the Redhawk is a Z64 with a lam of red wood on the limbs. It's now discontinued.

Technically, Byron Ferguson put his name on his son, Zach Ferguson, then Zach put his own name on the ZBows. :o
