Just got a Pl 62" 52#@28" I draw to 28" and prefer a 29" arrow. Want to use the Easton XX75's. 2016's or 2018's... or something else?
How heavy a point do you want to shoot? I'd start with 2016s.
I was thinking 125's with the 2016's and 135-145's with the 2018's Am I in the ballpark??
I think 2016's will work with either of those weights.
Yeah, you'd need more weight than that for 2018's
I've got a 62in 41#@28 turkey creek longbow. My draw is a tad more than 29 1/2, I can shoot 2018 full length with 150 grain and they fly great. I paper shot it one time and I never could get bullet wholes like that with my compounds. I tried some 2013 with 125grn full length and they shot great too. I probably don't know enough to fine tune my arrow selection yet,but the owner at the archery shop was suprised at well those 2018's shot out of my bow. I think the 2013's are better though.
I'm a huge fan of 2020's and really wish they were available in more shaft types.
What more can I say... longer arrow, heavier point to have a more rugged arrow ?
Guess it depends on the geometry of the riser and your release but I would love to try your new bow with them . :D
Mike go with the 2018 and a heavier point. Don't be afraid to go to 175 gr field point. They are tough as nails compared to the 2016. Tom
Hey Tom and the rest of you guys, thanks a lot! All this was very helpful. I think I will go with the 2018's and add a bit more weight up front. Stay well and happy new year!
