Title: Source for copperhead skins
Post by: maineac on January 01, 2009, 09:06:00 AM
I hope to skin my limbs this winter.  I love the look of the copperhead skins, but have not been able to find any.  Anyone know of a source for them?

Don't know of a source for them. I usually find my own during the summer. It's a hard snake two find two that match very well.

The only one I know of who usually has a pretty good supply is Bob Morrison. I'm not sure if he'd sell a set because he uses them on the limbs he sells.

Might check with Mike Yancey at Pine Hollow.  He has a fair number of different skins the last I saw.  dino

Copperhead skins are hard to find, not only as matched sets but ones that are big enough. We have lots of copperheads around here but most I've seen, and that have bitten my dogs, are in the 12" to 15" range or smaller. Pat

I bought a great pair that were 29 inches each from a guy in Texas who runs a company called American Head Hunters. He charged me a little more since they were so long, but they were very nice skins and copper heads are very hard to come by so I did not mind. He sells most of his stuff for education purposes but if you call him he may be able to fit your needs as he did mine. I cannot remember his name, but he was a really nice guy. I attached a link to his web site.

Good Luck,
