I have a 1957 70" Kodiak Special recurve it is 52@28 and shoots like a dream!
Not ideal for tromping thru thick brush.
Wes Wallace 66".........Shoots like a dream.

My Colt Trophy Mark I is 66" I believe. I think my Bear Tamerlane is even longer. Both are target bows, but incredibly comfortable and smooth. They were Olympians in their day! Now the shooters seem to have gone to metal risers and takedown limbs. May be more efficient but no way are they more elegant!
60s Bear Super Kodiak- 66" 43# @ 28

I have an American Cheetah, 64" that I really like. Look at the big auction site for older Ben Pearson Palomino or Javalina @ 66". They are great shooters that can be had for not much cash.
I have a 1960 Bear Polar with yellow glass that is 66" and I love that bow!
68" Drake thats fun to shoot every now then.
66" 1958 kodiak 46# @ 28" very smooth bow.
i love my little recuve 52 in ben berson but i like the recuve and like to stay recuve.i will stat looking at some of theese.i am new at the trad and found love in it :D :jumper:
Woolly Bear: 60 inches isn't a long recurve; it's about a mid-range length recurve, probably about the best length for a 28-inch draw. On the other hand 52 inches is a short recurve, 48-inches even shorter and about as short as they get.
Lots of bows made in the 50s are in the 58-62-inch range. Most bowyers nowadays offer recurves longer than 60 inches as well. Fairly easy to find a one-piece recurve in 62 inches. Not as many in 64 inches. In a three-piece takedown, it's pretty easy to find 66-inch lengths and even a few 68 inchers. Good luck in your quest.
Don't forget the Warf/ILF route. You can easily make a 61"-70" bow and not break the bank.

I traded a 60" Kota Killum recurve. That was a very nice bow, pretty and a shooter.
i have though of trying to make a long recuve it may be the way i have to go. i have been on line looking at some of them ..
I build my bows at 64".I havnt seen a real benefit in any longer.I myself have a 32" draw and have no limb stack.
Lynn Harrelson, he is a sponser here. 60" and right at 200fps at 8grs per pound. He makes a take down also. Bill
BW PSAV - 60"
BW HF1225 - 64"
Both my Wing Falcon's are 62 and the Quinn is 64. Pearson is 66.
Meril, I build my 3 piece takedowns out to 66'. Smooth as my new grandsons cheek. Bob
62" martin hunter.
I have recurves in my line availabel out to 66"
