I am considering the 220 grain phantom broadheads but can't find a field point that is 220 grains to practice with- with that being said would it be better to use a 250 or 200 grain field point? Another option would be to use the brass washers with the 200's but having never used them I'm not sure how many can be used per arrow- how many grains difference is too much in your opinion? Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you!
i say buy two packs of broadheads...practice with one pack and hunt with the other.
How pounds are you drawing at your draw length? I've found on both my bows that 175 Grains is plenty good enough. Anything heavier nose dives VERY SEVERLY. Just some food for thought for you.
if your shooting carbons...you could buys some 100 grain brass inserts and tip with 125 grain field point....assuming the brass inserts are the same diameter as your carbons..you can also use the goldtip internal weight system...
I use 200 grain field points for practice and 60 days before bow season starts I switch to all BH practice. The 200 grain field point seems to hit in just about the same place as my 220 grain Phantoms.

Glen I shoot the 220 Phantoms and love 'em! The 200 grain field point is plenty. Heck even most compound guys can't shoot good enough to see 20 grains difference, I don't know any trad guys that can.
You're gonna like 'em!!
Thank you guys so much! It's always interesting hearing the thoughts of others as there are so many variables in choosing the right arrow and point/broadhead set up.
If you want to get a little closer to weight buy some 100 grain steel adaptors and 125 grain glue on field points or the reverse. It will put you within 5 grains but with that being said I too shoot the 200 grain field points and have no issues. Just another option :goldtooth:
What Biggie said.....
Use the 200 grain field points...works for me.
ditto...I use 200 field tips, and love my muzzy 220's!
Yes what Biggie said 20gr diffrence is nothing weigh some wood arrows you will see 200gr is ok
Hey Glen, you can always throw a couple of 250 gr field points in a drill press and file them down to 220 gr. Doesn't take all that long and you'll be dead on with the weight...Lloyd
just use 100 gr. steel insert and 125 glu on fieldpoint, put them together instant 225 gr. point...
